2013 List Astrological/Astronomical Events and Occurrence
Have you always heard on the news about different astronomical events, as well as astrological events, but have always missed them because you found out too late? Then, don’t let this happen this year as here is a list of the different events related to astrology that you should wait for.
Last January 31 occurred a very close Jupiter/Moon conjunction. The gibbous moon passed within less than a degree to the south of Jupiter.
Between February 2-23, Mercury will be readily visible in the western sky as soon as the sun sets.
This coming March 10-24, you should await the Comet PANSTARRS as it does its best show. The comet, which was discovered in June 2011 with the use of the Pan-STARRS 1 telescope, will also be closest to the sun and earth at this time.
On April 25, you will witness a partial lunar eclipse where the best view will be seen by the Eastern hemisphere.
On May 10 will occur the annular solar eclipse. In terms of the Philippines, only the Visayas and Mindanao will enjoy the view. This is because the borderline of the eclipse will be crossing the Philippines making it difficult for Manila observers to catch a glimpse of the eclipse. The first contact is estimated to happen at 6:06:31 AM, the maximum eclipse at 6:47:38 AM, and the last contact at 7:32:40 AM.
The so-called Dance of the Planets will be witnessed from May 24-30 where Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter will make a show after sunset. Each day, you will notice that the planets will move and shuffle their positions in the heavens.
Await the biggest full moon of the year on June 23. At 7:32 in the morning, the moon will turn full. And since it will be at its closest point to the earth some half an hour before that, the event will be considered a Supermoon.
The Perseid Meteor Shower will be seen on August 12. This you shouldn’t miss because there is going to be a fantastic show since the meteor shower will have a rate of 90 meteors to fall per hour. So don’t stay close to lighted places. It is best to hide somewhere dark like underneath the trees.
The Comet ISON will also be visible in the sky. This will happen only after 15 long years since the last bright comet, the Hale-Bopp comet, was seen.
A holiday show will be given to you by Venus during the whole month of December. This is even considered as Venus’ showiest for both 2013 and 2014.
Since these are astrological events and astronomical events, it is expected that stories will surface regarding these events being a warning for some calamity or disaster. Let us remember that there are no connections and that these heavenly bodies move as well. Let us just think of these as a natural exhibition in the sky that will entertain us. Better not miss these because it normally takes a long time for such occurrences to happen again.
